The Person Behind Calm Childbirth
Welcome! I’m Franicia T. White. Being a mother has been such a great blessing in my life more than I ever thought possible. You’ll find many parents who say the same thing! My husband and I have ten beautiful children whom I birthed naturally, mostly at home — the others were born at birthing centers and without pain medication by the grace of God.
Though giving birth without pain medication or even at home is not what’s primarily important, I mention those things because I never thought I’d choose this path and have confidence in the birth process. This website is one way I can pass on that knowledge to other mommies. I’ve been giving birth since I was twenty-three years old and had my tenth baby last year in 2022 when I was forty-two years old. Also, during that time, I’ve noticed the need for Christian women to have pregnancy and childbirth sources that they can use. It is my goal to make this space as close to that as possible.
My first baby loved being carried in a wrap sling (in front or on my back) while I prepared food or went on walks.
During the journeys of my pregnancies, deliveries, and motherhood, I’ve learned a number of key things that have greatly helped me to maintain the healthiest pregnancy possible as well as apply relaxation techniques that allowed me to have relatively calm and easy labor and births. I’d like to help other women by sharing helpful and healthy meal ideas, ways to reflect on motherhood and the pregnancy process — especially childbirth — for better outcomes, relaxation and childbirth preparation techniques, and even breastfeeding tips as well — all from a faith-based, Christian perspective.
Whatever your birth choices are, it is my prayer that you may be able to find anything useful to have a more peaceful labor and delivery experience. Whether it’s using some of the same Scripture passages or breathing and relaxation techniques as me or even similar love-filled mindsets and empowering words about motherhood, your baby, and your experiences, I hope that the Lord would give you that peace that “surpasseth all understanding” even in the special and monumental events of pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the birth of your precious baby.
